The Bobby Asher Golf Classic is rapidly approaching, and the Men’s Fellowship is looking forward to another rewarding experience on the links. The tournament is scheduled for October 29th and is formatted as a four-man team Captain’s Choice. Registration should start around 8 AM, and the tournament itself will begin at 10 AM with a shotgun start. The tournament will be followed by a catered meal by our our nationally renowned Mike Lewis and prize distribution.
There are several ways to be involved in this event. You can play in the tournament; the cost is $50.00 per person. You can dedicate or sponsor a hole with a contribution starting at $50.00. For parents with children who have a community service hours requirement, we will put them to work assisting them in their quest to complete their community service hours while you enjoy a round of golf at Hedingham Golf Course or the catered meal.
There will be fliers in the narthex and at the Church Office. We would like to have the forms completed by October 15th if possible. We are asking that all participants notify us by October 23rd in order to allow Hedingham a chance to make preparations.

St. Timothy’s is hosting the Anglo-Catholic Rectors Conference from October 10th through 12th. The priests who attend this conference are gathering here for fellowship with like-minded clergy, to hear helpful and scholarly papers about Christian ethic and morals, and for the support and enlightenment generated by healthy discussion. This group is led by our own Father Martin, and the presentations will be given by Father Harmon Smith, a retired priest and professor at Duke Divinity School.

The Blessing of Pets will be on Sunday, October 2nd at 4 PM in front of the Church. On or around Saint Francis Day, it has become a custom to bless the animals. Saint Francis loved the natural world God created and loved all of the creatures in it. He saw nature as reflecting the beauty of its Creator and could see the loving will of God and His hand in all of nature. We will bless some of God’s creatures that afternoon. If you have pets of any size or shape, please bring them to the front doors of the Church, and we will pray over them and bless them. Our pets and all creatures are dear to us, and we can give thanks that God has let us enjoy them and care for them. There is ample parking at the Landmark Office Building as well as the spaces adjacent to the Church.

Each year we send a number of our high school and college-aged students to Saint Michael’s Conference in Hartford, Connecticut. The conferees pay for their registration fees, and the parish tries to cover the cost of transportation to and from the Conference. To help pay for the cost of transportation, the young people attending the Conference are having a Live Auction and a Silent Auction after the 11 AM Service on Sunday, June 5th. The Silent Auction will offer items that have been donated by the young people from crafts they have made or by local businesses and restaurants. The Live Auction will be each one of the conferees! They are willing to be auctioned off to do two or three hours of yard work or housework, wash cars or windows (no climbing ladders), walk the dog(s), babysit or help with “media instruction” (how to operate digital cameras, media players or computers). David Elsea has graciously accepted the job of auctioneer for the Live Auction. Please make sure you attend the cookout following the 11 AM Service on June 5th so you can take advantage of the Silent and Live Auctions.
