St. Michael’s Conference 2012

Posted by Webwright March 4, 2012 under Church News

Father James would like to meet with all the young people and their parents who are interested in attending Saint Michael’s Conference this August. The best day and time to meet is Sunday, March 18th at 12:30 PM in the parlor. We need to have a clear number of the people who are going, how we’re going to get there and how we’re going to pay for it. This meeting is especially important for people who have never been to Saint Michael’s Conference but are interested in attending this summer. Saint Michael’s Conference is a week-long educational conference for young people between the ages of 16 and 21. It is held at The Holy Family Retreat Center is Hartford, CT. The young people who attend come from Episcopal Churches all over the United States, but you do not have to be an Episcopalian to attend. The Conference is made up of about 45 boys and 45 girls, half of whom are in high school and half of whom are in college. Please try to attend this meeting whether you have been to the Conference before or if this will be your first time attending.

Every Member Canvass Update

“Thank you!” to everyone who has committed to pledge to Saint Timothy’s for 2012. It is essential that our pledged income supports our budget so that we are able to provide the same number of personnel and the same programs as we have for the past number of years. If you have yet to pledge, you may pick up a pledge card in the narthex, complete it, and place it in the alms basin at the offertory.

Workshop on the Eucharist

Posted by Webwright under Church News, Courses

Please mark your calendars for our Workshop on the Eucharist on January 29th and 30th. The workshop will be conducted in three sessions by Bill Ryon, a layman from the Washington, DC area and a member of St. Paul’s parish in Washington. The purpose of the workshop is to learn more about how Christ is truly present in the Eucharist and to gain more of an understanding about how our worship on Sunday, with the Eucharist at its center, relates to Christ’s presence in us and how it affects our actions. The three sessions will be held at 4 PM and 7 PM on Sunday and at 7 PM on Monday. Dinner will be provided between the sessions on Sunday.
