Our Church School presents a Christmas Pageant every year at the Family Service at 5:30 PM on Christmas Eve. We are beginning to plan for the Pageant and need to know who will be here that evening to participate. This is a long-standing tradition for our Church School children, and we hope that everyone will be able to take part. Sign-ups have begun for the Pageant Cast; the sign-up is located on the wooden table as you enter the Parish Hall from the bell tower. If you have any questions, please contact Susan Patton at 919-274-2222 or susanpatton@nc.rr.com.

The Church School will be assembling BackPack Buddies for North Raleigh Ministries for our Service Sunday on November 20th. This program provides healthy food to hungry children at times when other resources are not available, such as on weekends and during school vacations. We will be collecting food from now through November 20th. Please consider having your family purchase the items to fill an entire BackPack. This will help us plan the number of completed BackPacks and give us a count of which items are still needed.
Each BackPack contains:
- 2 cans of vegetables
- 1 can of fruit
- 2 cans of meat or meat stew, such as tune, chicken or ravioli
- 2 packs of noodles (Easy Mac in individual packs or Ramen noodles)
- 2 boxes of 100% juice
- 3 boxes of shelf-stable milk (can be found in the baking aisle)
- 2 healthy snacks such as dried fruit, granola bars or Goldfish crackers
- 2 breakfast items such as oatmeal packets, small low-sugar cereal boxes or breakfast bars
Pop top and individual sizes are best. No soft tops or high sugar items will be allowed in the BackPacks.

We are in need of volunteers to teach Church School next year. We have teams of teachers for every grade level, so you do not have to commit to every Sunday, and a clear curriculum is provided to hep guide you through the lessons. Please contact Susan Patton at 274-3333 or susanpatton@nc.rr.com if you would like to volunteer.

The first day for Church School Registration is Sunday, August 21. Parents may register beginning on that day after both services. Registration tables will be in the narthex after the 9 AM service and in the Parish Hall after the 11 AM service. Registration will continue on successive Sundays through Sunday, September 11 when Church School begins. Registration forms will be available in the Sunday bulletins and in the August issue of St. Timothy’s Tidings. It is helpful for parents to complete a registration form each year.

On Palm Sunday, April 17th, all children should join the Church School in the first four pews of the Church before the 11 AM service. We will be joining the congregation in the Palm Sunday procession. Following the procession, the Church School will go to the Parish Hall for Chapel and then attend classes.
There will be no Church School on Easter Sunday, April 24th. Children are asked to join their parents in Church for the Easter Service. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt following the 11 AM service hosted by the Youth Group. If your child will be participating in the Easter Egg Hunt, please bring a dozen plastic Easter eggs by Palm Sunday. The eggs can be dropped off in the Parish Hall.

A tradition for our children during Lent is collecting money in a Lenten envelope. This year the children will donate their money to NetsforLife, a partnership for malaria prevention in Africa. This non-profit organization partners with corporations and faith-based organizations to implement malaria-prevention programs by providing insecticide treated nets. In Phase II they plan to deliver seven million nets to 17 African countries. The cost of a net is $12.00. For more information, please visit www.netsforlifeafrica.com. Envelopes are available for the children in the Parish Hall during Coffee Hour.
