Christmas Donations for North Raleigh Ministries

November 24th, 2008 by Webwright

We are providing traditional Christmas dinner boxes, Christmas stockings, and toys to eligible clients in our area. Already, over 70 children are registered for Christmas toys, and we still have a week to sign up. Your generosity will give these children a joyful Christmas. Please donate new toys and items for Christmas stockings before December 12. Last year we donated over 200 stockings, and this year the need has greatly increased.

Food Pantry Needs: Breakfast items (cereals, grits, oatmeal, breakfast bars, etc.), canned meats, dessert items (cake mix, pudding, Jell-O, etc.). Marked containers will be placed in the Parish Hall for collection of these items, and they will be transported to the Crisis Center. Please donate your time, talents and energy to sharing Christ’s love with our neighbors by volunteering at North Raleigh Ministries. Call 785-9911 and ask for Katie or contact Pat Baker at 787-5976 to volunteer.

Volunteers Needed for North Raleigh Ministries

September 21st, 2008 by Webwright

The people of St. Timothy’s are asked to help particularly on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month and on the third Saturday of each month. If you would like to volunteer for this good work to help the people of North Raleigh, please call Denise Crumpler at NRM at 785-9911. North Raleigh Ministries helps people who live in certain North Raleigh zip code areas by providing non-perishable food, fresh food (when available), and the everyday necessities of life. Families may apply for temporary emergency financial assistance, which may be granted following a thorough review. Financial assistance is used to pay for rent, utilities, fuel bills, medications and similar needs; no cash is provided directly to our clients. North Raleigh Ministries also refers clients to other private and public resources that can provide additional assistance, from employment opportunities to housing.

Special Request from North Raleigh Ministries

June 22nd, 2008 by Webwright

Between June 7th and June 9th, a water pipe broke in one of the suites of the building housing North Raleigh Ministries. There was at least one inch of water in most of the space, soaking the walls and carpeted areas. According to the tenant agreement, North Raleigh Ministries is responsible for the clean-up, and a restoration company has been contacted to aid in the recovery. The insurance held by North Raleigh Ministries will cover part of the recovery (e.g. paint for for the walls and fans to help dry the area). The food pantry was closed for a few days but has reopened and is back on a normal schedule. For the next two to three weeks, extra volunteers are needed to help reorganize the shop and the pantry. The volunteer efforts are being organized by Diane Williams at 782-4422 or igmommy@nc.rr.com. If you would like to lend a hand so North Raleigh Ministries can have a full and complete recovery, please contact Diane.

North Raleigh Ministries

February 10th, 2008 by Webwright

North Raleigh Ministries has an urgent need for volunteers. The Thrift Shoppe is not fully staffed on the 2nd and 5th Saturdays. To help meet this challenge, NRM needs the help of each one of you. They need each church to secure two or if possible three volunteers that would commit to work the 2nd and/or 5th Saturday of every month. Please see if you can make some contacts and let Denise Crumpler know who will be there from St. Timothy’s. Denise’s number at NRM is 785-9911.
