Congratulations to Peter Bourey and Steve Sholtis
At our last Vestry Meeting Peter and Steve were elected as our Senior Warden and Junior Warden, respectively. Traditionally, the Senior Warden is the lead layman in the parish and helps the Rector with areas of leading the Vestry, overseeing the smooth operation of the parish and even helping with some pastoral concerns. He is the Rector’s right hand man. The Junior Warden’s role is more to oversee the material concerns of the parish and to make sure the parish has everything it needs to carry on its ministry. The Junior Warden is seen as the people’s warden. In our diocese, the Senior Warden and the Junior Warden have to be elected from sitting Vestry members. The Rector nominates the Senior Warden and the Vestry nominates the Junior Warden; both are elected by the Vestry. Please pray for Peter and Steve as they, by God’s grace, fulfill these ministries.
Vestry February Meeting
The Vestry will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, February 16th at 6:30 PM in the parlor.
Vestry Annual Retreat
The Vestry will hold its Annual Retreat on Saturday, February 4th. As part of their retreat, they will try to schedule as many events as they can through 2012. If your organization has a date for which an event needs to be scheduled, please e-mail that date to Debbie Nicholas in our Parish Office at dnicholas@sttimothys.org.
January Vestry Meeting
The Vestry will hold its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, January 19th at 6:30 PM in the parlor.
Congratulations to Ed Watson
Last Tuesday evening, Ed Watson was elected to the Vestry to fill Samantha Mason’s unexpired term. Samantha has resigned as she is moving to Charlotte. The Vestry looks forward to working with Ed, and we know God will give him the grace to make good decisions about the mission and ministry of our parish.
