Palm Sunday Breakfast

Posted by Webwright under Church Events, Church News

Please mark your calendars for 10:00 AM April 1st and join us for a breakfast sponsored by our young people who will be attending St. Michael’s Conference. We have a large group of young people who will be attending the conference this summer, and we have a lot of money to raise to get them there. Please help support this group and enjoy a delicious pancake breakfast. Sign up to attend in the Parish Hall; tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.

All Church School children should sit with the Church School in the first three pews before the 11:00 AM service.  We will be joining the Palm Sunday procession and meet afterward for Children’s Chapel outside the front doors of the Church. Parents, if you would like to walk with your children, feel free to join us up front.

All-Night Vigil Before the Blessed Sacrament at the Altar of Repose

Posted by Webwright March 17, 2007 under Church Events, Church News, Worship and Prayer

From Maundy Thursday evening through Good Friday morning, we keep watch before the Blessed Sacrament at the Altar of Repose. This commemorates for us the disciples being asked to watch and pray with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane the night before He was crucified. And Jesus said to Peter, “So you could not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Mt. 26:40-41) So that we can make certain there are at least two people keeping watch for each hour of the Vigil, please print your name on the poster in the Parish Hall. This way, we can be certain that there is always someone before the Blessed Sacrament, and we can insure people’s safety.

A Special “Thank You” to Mark McKeown

Posted by Webwright March 15, 2007 under Church News, Vestry

Mark has served as our Senior Warden for a good number of years and has led us with distinction. With the amount of time and travel involved in his new position, he has had to take a break from being Senior Warden. Please let Mark know how much we appreciate the work, the time and devotion he has shown through his years as Senior Warden. We are fortunate that he will remain on the Vestry so we can still benefit from his many talents and his love of St. Timothy’s. Thank you, Mark!

Assistance for Fire Victims

Posted by Webwright March 12, 2007 under Church News, North Raleigh Ministries

Our support of North Raleigh Ministries has given us a way to help the victims of last week’s fire in North Raleigh. The Triangle Red Cross has put North Raleigh Ministries on a resource list with the Salvation Army and Helping Hands Mission. The Red Cross will give victims vouchers, and they can choose where and when to get assistance. North Raleigh Ministries is now on the Red Cross’ list of community resources and will work closely with the Red Cross to help overcome this disastrous fire.
