North Raleigh Ministries is presenting a fund raising event, An Evening at the Beach with The Embers – dinner, dancing, auction, on Thursday, May 8th from 7 PM till 11 PM at the North Ridge Country Club. If you have children, or know of children, who will be in grades Kindergarten through Eight in the fall, you will want to bring them to the Open House. Better still, come and see our parochial school for yourself. The Open House will be next Sunday, May 4th from 3 PM until 5 PM. You will be able to view the Kindergarten Center, the children’s classroom work, the classrooms, Science Labs, and Technology Labs, and faculty and staff will be on hand to answer any questions. There will be a Book Fair, a Student Art Show, a Drama Presentation and Technology Demonstration. You will also be able to meet the children’s author and illustrator, Consie Powell. If you’ve wondered about our excellent school, now is the time to come and see for yourself what goes on there, and you’ll be able to recommend it to your children, your family and your friends!
Do you have a graduate in your family? Each spring we like to recognize and pray for all those graduating from high school or college or receiving an advance degree. Please give Father James or Father Martin the person’s name, the institution from where the person is graduating, and, for high school graduates, the college or university they will be attending. It is important to recognize these accomplishments and to give God thanks for such blessings. We will have all of the graduates listed in the bulletin on Sunday, May 18th, Trinity Sunday.
Out last meeting before the summer break will be a time of good food, fun and fellowship at the Outback Steakhouse in Raleigh (7500 Creedmoor Road) on Tuesday, May 13th at 6:45 PM. If you would like to join us, please place your name on the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the Parish Hall by May 4th.
Craft Sunday will be May 4th. The children will be working on their Mother’s and Father’s Day gifts. Please meet in the Parish Hall at 11 AM.
North Raleigh Ministries needs volunteers to staff the food pantry and Thrift Shoppe. This is an opportunity to get to know volunteers from other churches in North Raleigh while helping our neighbors in need. It is hard work, but it’s fun and rewarding!!! The Crisis Center is open Monday – Thursday from 10 AM until 1 PM. The Thrift Shoppe is open Monday – Saturday from 10 AM until 1 PM with extended hours on Tuesday from 10 AM until 5 PM. It’s another Craft Buddies Event! Elizabeth McKeathern and Susan Patton are hosting a Create ‘n’ Crop weekend Friday, May 16th from 7 PM to 11 PM and Saturday, May 17th from 9 AM to 5 PM. Bring any craft project you would like to work on, or come use our supplies to create. Come one day, both days, or any time that fits your schedule. Everyone is invited. There will be plenty of space and time to work. If you come both days, you’ll be able to leave your supplies Friday night and be ready to work on Saturday. So bring a snack and a friend and join us for this event. A display board and sign-up sheet will be in the Parish Hall throughout the month of May. Let’s get creative!
St. Anne’s Chapter will hold their Bake Sale on Sunday, April 27th following both services. All of the money raised will go to purchasing new hymnals and prayer books. Mark your calendars.
The Vestry will hold its regular monthly meeting Thursday, April 17th at 6:30 PM in the Church Parlor.
The ECW will host their Annual Father’s Day Brunch on Sunday, June 15th in lieu of Coffee Hour.
