Peace, Love and Sunday School!

August 31st, 2008 by Webwright

We have not achieved world peace, nor cured cancer, but we can get a good start on it by volunteering to teach in St. Timothy’s Church School program. By sharing the teachings of Christ with our youth, we will raise leaders who will work for peace and have compassion and caring for the needs of their fellow man. The smallest commitment of two hours a month can mean a world of change.

We have been blessed to have several new teachers volunteer to lead classes this year. We are thankful for their interest and commitment to our church. We also have several vacancies to fill in the Church School teaching line-up. Opportunities to be involved are available in grades 3 through high school. If you would like to know more about volunteering in our Children’s Chapel and Church School, please contact Grace Hurst at 790-1758 or Father James at 787-7590. We hope you answer our call!

Feast of St. Mary the Virgin

August 17th, 2008 by Webwright

The Church from her very early days, even from New Testament times, has given honor, praise and devotion to the Mother of Our Lord. Down through the ages, prayers and adoration of Saint Mary have been a source of help and strength in the life of the Church and have resulted in deepened love and devotion to Jesus for millions of faithful Christians. Who better to invoke than the one who was closest to Jesus through His birth, life, death and Resurrection than Mary? She is quite rightly honored by the Church as one who will intercede for us before the throne of Christ. Devotion given Our Lady goes straight to Our Lord. We are fortunate to have one of the superiors of The Society of Mary, a devotional society in the Anglican Communion, as our preacher today, our own Father Martin.
