Important Vacation Bible School Information

April 29th, 2009 by Webwright

We will not be offering a VBS program this summer. We are giving some of our hard working volunteers a rest this year, in the hope that more people will be willing to step forward to help next year. We have added a list of churches in our area that are offering VBS programs and would be glad to have visitors from St. Timothy’s. Please contact Grace Hurst if you have any questions regarding these programs.

We are actively looking for families who would like to help in the Church School next fall. Volunteers are needed to lead Children’s Chapel, teach Church School classes and help with special events involving the children. The involvement of many families makes this rewarding commitment enjoyable and easy to fulfill. If you would like to learn more about how you can get involved, please speak to Father James or Grace Hurst. We hope this will be your year to say yes!

Maundy Thursday Vigil

April 1st, 2009 by Webwright

From Maundy Thursday evening through Good Friday morning, we keep watch before the Blessed Sacrament at the Altar of Repose. The commemorates for us the disciples being asked to watch and pray with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemine the night before He was crucified. And Jesus said to Peter, “So you could not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.” Mt. 26: 40-41. So that we can make certain there are at least two people keeping watch for each hour of the Vigil, please print your name on the poster by the main door in the narthex. This way we can be certain that there is always someone before the Blessed Sacrament, and we can ensure people’s safety.
