St. Timothy’s Church at Christmas is one of the warmest and most inviting places to celebrate our Lord’s Birth. It is the care and love we take in decorating our Church for Christmas that makes it so special. If you would like to help with our Hanging of the Greens, and everything else it takes to prepare for the Lord’s Birth, please print your name on the poster outside the Parish Office. We will decorate on Sunday, December 19th after the 11 AM Service. We would like to have fifteen to twenty souls to help with the decorating. With that many hearts and hands, the Church should be ready to welcome Our Lord on Christmas Eve.

Our Church School presents a Christmas Pageant every year at the Family Service at 5:30 PM on Christmas Eve. We are planning for the Pageant and need to know who will be participating that evening. This is a long-standing tradition for our Church School children, and we hope that everyone will be able to take part. The sign-up sheet is located on the wooden table as you enter the Parish Hall from the bell tower. If you have questions, please contact Susan Patton at 274-2222 or susanpatton@nc.rr.com.

The Parish Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, December 5th following the 11 AM Service. On that day, we will celebrate both the 9 AM and 11 AM Services and then remain in the Church for the Annual Meeting. There will be no Coffee Hour on that day, but child care will be available. We really would like to have all parishioners take part in the Annual Meeting and exercise their privilege to vote on the business matters of the Parish and read the annual reports of the Parish organizations. To vote at the Annual Meeting, one must be an adult (at least 16 years old) confirmed Communicant. The two major items of business at the meeting are to elect the Vestry and to accept the reports from the organizations in the Parish. Reports should be no more than one double-spaced typewritten page; we want to have copies of all of the reports available before the meeting. All Parish organizations should submit a report, including the Altar Guild, Church School, Choir, Layreaders, Acolytes, Episcopal Church Women, Table Fellowship Groups, Youth Group, Pastoral Care Committee, North Raleigh Ministries, St. Anne’s Chapter of the ECW, Ushers, Men’s Fellowship and St. Timothy’s School.

We welcome Samantha Mason to the Vestry. Samantha was elected at the last Vestry meeting to fill the seat vacated by Mark McKeown’s resignation, and she will fill the seat until the Annual Meeting in December. We are grateful to Mark for his years of service on the Vestry and his many contributions to the work of the Parish. We congratulate Samantha on her election to the Vestry and pray for God’s grace to give her wisdom and understanding as she helps lead our Parish.
