Teaching Series: The Paschal Mystery

Posted by Webwright under Church News, Courses

Through the month of May, we are fortunate to have Father Martin presenting a four-session series on The Paschal Mystery. The very heart of the Christian Faith is the Dying and Rising of the Lord Jesus and all that flows from it, which we know as the Paschal Mystery, and in which we live and serve inspired and imbued with the Holy Spirit, nourished by the Eucharistic Mystery of the Body and Blood of the Living Lord, and encompassed and aided by the Blessed Mother and all the Saints. All sessions will be held on Sunday and begin at 10 AM in the Parlor.

  • May 1st: The Resurrection of the Lord
  • May 8th: The Ascension of the Lord
  • May 22nd: The Pentecost Event
  • May 29th: Corpus Christi – The Eucharistic Presence

Vigil on Maundy Thursday

Posted by Webwright under Church News, Worship and Prayer

From Maundy Thursday evening through Good Friday morning, we keep watch before the Blessed Sacrament at the Altar of Repose. This commemorates for us the disciples being asked to watch and pray with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemine the night before He was crucified. And Jesus said to Peter, “So you could not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.” Mt. 26: 40-41. So that we can make certain there are at least two people keeping watch for each hour of the Vigil, please print your name on the poster by the main door in the narthex. This way we can be certain that there is always someone before the Blessed Sacrament, and we can ensure people’s safety.?

Easter Day Reception

Posted by Webwright under Church Events, Church News

The biggest season in the Church is Easter and the fifty days that follow. So we can continue the celebration from the Altar on that day, we will have a great reception in the Parish Hall while the children will have an Easter Egg Hunt. Please print your name on either poster (outside the Parish Office or in the Parish Hall) if you are willing to bring a dish for the reception. All families are invited to bring their favorite treat, sweet or savory, to share. Please bring items ready to serve. There will be a member of the ECW in the Parish Hall to accept your dish prior to the 11 AM Service. If you have any questions about what to bring or when to bring it, please contact Kathryn Carroll at 544-3896 X-157 (work) or 845-0748 (home).
