Posted by Webwright June 19, 2011 under Church News

Father James needs to meet with all the parents and young people planning to attend St. Michael’s Conference. The meeting is scheduled for Sunday, June 26th at 12:30 PM in the Parlor. Travel plans, chaperones, cost and all other last-minute details will be discussed. Please make every effort to attend that meeting because it will be the last communication we have before St. Michael’s Conference.

Prayer for Father’s Day

Posted by Webwright under Church News, Worship and Prayer

Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of thy faithful people is governed and sanctified: Receive our supplications and prayers which we offer before thee for all members of Thy Holy Church, especially for all men and fathers, that in their vocation and ministry they may truly and devoutly serve thee: through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the same Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Trinity Sunday

Posted by Webwright under Church News, Worship and Prayer

The First Sunday after Pentecost is Trinity Sunday. We simply give thanksgiving on this day for God and who He is. We are not just celebrating the wonderful truth about God as the Church has discovered and taught this doctrine. We are rejoicing that we can take full part in the life of God and all the benefits we have by believing in the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

Adult Bible Study: The Mass

Posted by Webwright June 13, 2011 under Bible Study, Church News

The Adult Bible Study on Wednesdays at 7 PM in the Parlor goes from Bible Study to Book Study. The book we will study is The Mass: The Glory, the Mystery, the Tradition. Since our Prayer Book clearly states that the Holy Eucharist is “the principal act of Christian worship of the Lord’s Day and other major Feasts”, we should know why and what it’s all about. This book study will help us learn more about this service that we call The Eucharist, The Mass, The Lord’s Supper and Holy Communion. A Movie Night will take place instead of the Book Study on July 6th. For more information, contact Mary D’Rozario at marykddrozario@mindspring.com or 919-306-2907.

Feast of Pentecost

Posted by Webwright June 12, 2011 under Church News, Worship and Prayer

Today is the feast of Pentecost when we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit descending on the Church. Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit, and He did keep His promise by descending on the Apostles (Acts 2) and sending them forth to carry on His life and mission as the Church. We do well to keep this major feast of the Church by prayer, attendance at one of the services and giving thanks for all the benefits we have received by the Holy Spirit.

Save Your Box Tops For Saint Timothy’s School

Posted by Webwright June 5, 2011 under Church News, St. Timothy's School

We all shop for groceries. Now turn those shopping trips into easy cash for Saint Timothy’s School, and encourage friends to do the same! Just look for the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products like Cheerios, Hamburger Helper and Kleenex. All you need to do is clip them and put them in the Saint Timothy’s School’s collection box in the back of the Church. Each one is worth 10 cents for the School. Saint Timothy’s School earned over $1,400 for the 2010-2011 school year. Thank you!

Help Requested for the Offor Family

Posted by Webwright under Church News

We give praise and thanksgiving for the births of Peter, Paul, Christian and Adaeze Offor to Samuel and Chizoba Offor. Mrs. Offor and the quadruplets are doing fine. We will do well to support the Offor Family with our prayers and all other means of support.

Samuel and Chizoba worship with us here at Saint Timothy’s, and as part of our parish family, we want to give them the help they need. The Offor Family and Wake Med Hospital are doing all they can to help with this transition from being a family of four to a family of eight. If you would like to help in a spiritual way, please remember the family in your prayers. If you would like to put your faith into action, please consider donating clothing, diapers, gift cards or formula (Enfamil – Gentle Ease). Members who would like to help may contact Staphanie Veeder, LCSW Wake County Preschool Special Education Social Worker at 250-6678 or at sveeder@wcpss.net.

You may also help by attending a shower for the Offor Family here at Saint Timothy’s on Saturday, June 11th from 1-3 PM. Samuel and Chizoba will be here to thank everyone who has helped them and to receive your good wishes, prayers and words of advice. Donations of diapers will also be collected. For questions or comments, or to RSVP, please contact Stephanie Veeder at sveeder@wcpss.net.
