Children's Chapel and Church School

Every Sunday, during the traditional calendar school year, Church School is offered for children during the 10:30 am service.  There are classes for each age group from Pre-school to 12th grade, including a class for children with special needs.  Many of the classes are led by volunteers from the parish.  Children’s Chapel begins Sunday morning at 10:30 am in the Parish Hall.  Nursery care is available during both the 8:30 am and 10:30 am Sunday services for children 3 months – 3 years old.

In each of our classes the volunteer teachers use the Anglican Edition teachers guide and curriculum published by David C. Cook.  Our special needs classroom uses the same curriculum and is run by a qualified teaching assistant equipped with the most current special needs training.

All of the children participate in Service Sunday projects through-out the year and in 2016 we hosted coffee hour for the parish, created activity bags for children in local hospitals, visited and thanked our local fire department to observe International Firefighters Day, and collected funds during Lent for the purchase of a cow as a hand-up to an impoverished family through Heifer International.  The children also engage in fun and educational events such as group kickball games,  Backpack Blessings, Pretzel Day during Lent, Egg Hunt at Easter, Vacation Bible School, Fall Festival, and our annual Christmas Pageant.  For more information please contact Sarah Culton at christianed@sttimothys.org.
