It is with great honor that the Vestry of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church Raleigh, North Carolina, announces the calling of the Revered Allen Ranson Waller to be our next Rector.  After nine months of prayerful work by the Search Committee, his name was put forth and the Vestry concurred with the work of the Search Committee.  God’s will has been done, and we are so pleased to welcome the third Rector of St. Timothy’s Church.

Father Allen comes to us from St. Saviour’s Parish in Oxton, United Kingdom, where he has served as the Curate since July 2016. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Birkenhead, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the Diocese of Chester. Father Allen is originally from North Carolina and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy/Religious Studies at James Madison University in Virginia.  He completed his Bachelor of Theology/Theology for Ordination at Oxford University in the United Kingdom.   St. Saviour’s also provides religious instruction and support for four schools under the Church of England. Father Allen and his wife, Angelica, have one daughter, Arielle.

Both the Search Committee and the Vestry enjoyed their time with the Waller family.  We are most eager to share more about Fr. Allen’s gifts with the parish.  He is bright, engaging, loving, energetic, caring, faithful, and a very skilled, dynamic preacher.   He will undoubtedly continue our Anglican traditions at St. Timothy’s.  The word coined by the Search Committee during their first interview with him was simply, “wow.  I have shared my thoughts with both the Search Committee and Vestry as I deeply believe God’s will was done in the calling of our next shepherd to guide and nurture us in Christ’s love.

Having had the pleasure of spending time with Fr. Allen and Angelica, I can tell you I feel a sense of thankfulness, excitement, and hope for the future of St. Timothy’s Church and School.

Fr. Allen, Angelica, and Arielle will be joining us officially on March 1, but we may meet them earlier, as Fr. Doug will be transitioning with Fr. Allen during the month of February.  A huge expression of gratitude to Fr. Doug for agreeing to stay with us as our Interim Rector through February, until Fr. Allen’s work begins in March.

May God continue to bless St. Timothy’s Church and School.
